Avalanche — highest rate first
Snowball — smallest balance first
Which one should you pick?
Avalanche is mathematically better. Snowball is better if you have quit before. Be honest about which one you are, and pick the method you will finish — a worse plan you complete beats a better plan you abandon.

Retirement Projection

Your assumptions
What that means
Read this before you trust the number
This ignores inflation, taxes, Social Security, pensions, and anything you have already saved. It is arithmetic on assumptions you chose.
A 5% withdrawal rate is more aggressive than the 4% figure most planners use. Set the rate to 4% to see a more conservative target — the nest egg needed will rise.
Returns are not smooth. A 7% average still contains real years that end down 20%.

Back up your numbers
Your work saves automatically as you type — but only in this browser, on this device. Clearing your browsing data erases it, it will not appear on your phone, and Safari can drop it on its own if you go a week without opening the page. Download a backup and none of that can cost you anything.
Start over
Clears every number you have entered on this device. This cannot be undone, so download a backup first if you might want it.
